Pirate Soap Company's ' Neptune's Garden' Hand Soap w/ Kelp and Nettle Leaf

"Neptune’" plays a central role in the long standing tradition of the "Line-crossing ceremony". An initiation rite still current in many navies, coast guards, and merchant fleets. When ships cross the equator, ‘"Pollywogs’" (sailors who have not crossed before) receive "subpoenas" to appear before King Neptune and his court (including his assistant Davy Jones). Some Pollywogs may be "interrogated" by King Neptune and his entourage. At the end of the ceremony (which included considerable hazing) they are initiated as "Shellbacks" or "Sons of Neptune" and receive a certificate to that effect.

NOTE: This soap is unique in the fact that when the seaweed rehydrates, it looks as if it is growing right out of the bar! Very Piratly!
